Public InputThe Basin Advisory Panel welcomes members of the public to its meetings. In addition, staff and Panel members are available to provide presentations to local and regional organizations about the groundwater management planning process. The Sonoma County Water Agency (SCWA) is a Special District with the authority to produce and furnish surface water and groundwater for beneficial uses, control floods, generate electricity, provide recreation in connection with SCWA facilities, treat, dispose and reuse wastewater. To maintain a sustainable groundwater resource for the citizens of Sonoma Valley that rely on the basin for part of their daily needs, SCWA intends to consider the adoption of a resolution of intention to prepare a groundwater management plan at its January 30, 2007 Board meeting.
SCWA encourages any individual interested in the development of the groundwater management plan to attend the meeting. Stakeholder AssessmentBefore forming the Basin Advisory Panel, the Center for Collaborative Policy conducted interviews with 30 individuals in the Sonoma Valley.
