Water Supply, Transmission, and Reliability Project (Water Project)

Water demands within the Agency's service area are currently approaching the limits of the Agency's water right permits and the physical limits of the transmission system. The Water Project is needed so that the Agency may release additional water stored in Lake Sonoma and expand the transmission system to meet increased future demands, to alleviate existing system constraints, and to improve existing and futuresystem reliability. Without the Water Project, communities served by the Agency may not be able to provide water to meet the population growth identified in adopted general plans, and may eventually experience water shortages. In addition, portions of the Water Project may be currently needed to meet existing peak summer demands of the Agency's customers and to improve the security and reliability of the transmission system.
